This photo journal is a curation of collections of images I’ve captured over the course of my life on film, DSLR, mirrorless, and various phone and crappy point-and-shoot cameras. While I spend my days as a professional graphic designer, my photography hobby has always been my first love. Now I’m on a little mission to share these collections throughout the year and I invite you to come along for the journey. Here’s to being vulnerable and sharing the work, even if not technically perfect. Thanks for visiting and feel free to drop me a line and say hi!

LATEST COLLECTION: NOLA FOREVER

I had the pleasure of going to New Orleans two years in a row about a decade ago. It was love at first sight. I’ve thought about the Central Grocery muffuletta more times than I care to admit and have wanted to go back every year since. Since Nate’s only experience in NOLA was a not-so-great work trip a while back, we’ve talked about doing a re-do for years. Luckily, since all things spooky/macabre are a big part of Amelia’s identity, it felt like the perfect destination for a spring break getaway this year. The food, the architecture and signage, the music, the vibes are always magical and soul-filling. Even the Walgreens is a 10/10. Since I wasn’t able to consume nearly as many muffulettas as I’d hoped, we’ll definitely need to plan a trip back!

COLLECTION 14: RIP FOX RUN MALL

I am always fascinated by liminal spaces that feel a little spooky and haunted. Abandoned motels, malls, mansions. With our local mall just about to close forever, this was my chance. OK, so it wasn’t officially closed yet; the lights were still on, there was cheerful music playing, and a handful of shoppers were still trying to take advantage of final blowout sales before everything shuts down at the end of the month. Even still, I was able to capture some of that delightful eeriness strolling around the mostly shuttered storefronts and restaurants. I was glad to get as many shots as I did before getting yelled at by mall security, LOL. It was also a gloomy, overcast day after a snowfall which gave my exterior shots an added desolate vibe. Perfect.

COLLECTION 13: GLOW

The final collection for 2025 honors what is probably the most important aspect of photography: light. Whether it’s golden hour, sunrise over the cliffs of the Maine coast, festive twinkle lights, quiet candlelight, awe-inspiring starlight, or the flames lighting up a hot air balloon on a summer evening, there’s just a magical warmth that sparks a childlike sense of wonder. I remember as a teenager going on a photo adventure with a friend of mine, and she called it “chasing the light” because in a literal blink, it can change if you don’t capture it. I feel like I’ve been doing that ever since.
